Lehman Named Vice-Captain for Ryder Cup

As a Golden Gopher, Lehman was an All-Big Ten and All-American performer from 1979-81. Lehman qualified individually for three different NCAA Championships (1979-81), finishing 20th as a junior in 1980.
As a pro, he won the 1996 British Open. He was part of the United States' Ryder Cup victory in 1999, going 3-2-2 in his matches.

U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III has chosen Gopher alum Tom Lehman as a vice-captain. Lehman, a Minnesota native, will help lead the team in the 2016 competition at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.

Lehman served as captain of the 2006 team and was previously a member of three Ryder Cup teams. There will be four vice-captains for Team USA, with Lehman being the first announced.
