Last Saturday, the Gophers took on Cornell as part of the NWCA National Duals for the second consecutive year. The teams split the dual's 10 matches and each scored bonus points in two of their wins, with the Big Red squeaking out a 19-17 victory.

Minnesota's bonus points came from a pair of major decisions, first from No. 4 Nick Dardanes at 141 and then from No. 14 Michael Kroells at 285. Dardanes defeated Logan David, 19-10, to earn the 33rd major decision of his collegiate career, which leads all active Gophers. Kroells avenged a loss from last year's dual against Jacob Aiken-Phillips with his 10-1 victory.

In addition to those two wins, the Gophers also scored decisions from No. 1 Chris Dardanes (133), No. 4 Logan Storley (174) and No. 5 Scott Schiller (197). Dardanes' win improved his record this season to 20-0, marking the best start to a season in his collegiate career.

With its dual season now complete, Minnesota moves on to the conference and national tournaments. The first will be the Big Ten Championships, which will be held on March 7 and 8 in Columbus, Ohio.
