Prelims Results
The 2015 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships began this morning in Greensboro, NC with preliminary races of the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 400 medley relay, as well as one-meter diving.
The Gophers 200 free relay team of Rebecca Weiland, Lauren Votava, Danielle Nack and Blake Zeiger finished 22nd with a time of 1:29.63.
Samantha Harding and Brooke Zeiger competed in the 500 free prelims for Minnesota. Harding finished with a time of 4:41.80 for 18th place. Freshman Zeiger had a 4:47.32 for 48th place.
Junior Kierra Smith dropped over a second from her seeded time to finish 24th in the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.56. Tori Simenec finished with a 1:58.76 for 35th place.
Rebecca Weiland raced a 22.10 in the 50 free prelims. The senior will represent Minnesota tonight in the consolation final seeded twelfth.
Tori Simenec, Kierra Smith, Becca Weiland and Lauren Votava combined for a 3:34.79 in the 400 medley relay for 22nd place. One-meter diving prelims are underway at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Minnesota's Jessica Ramberg and Yu Zhou are competing, follow along with live stats.
