Mendez Earns All-B1G First Team Honors

Jose Mendez was named to the All-Big Ten First Team announced by the conference today. The sophomore tied for fifth at the Big Ten Championships over the weekend. This is Mendez's second first-team all-conference honor in as many years.
Mendez has a 71.50 season stroke average, which ranks third in Minnesota's season record books. He has turned in five top-five and eight top-20 finishes in 11 tournaments this season. Mendez has carded a team-best 12 rounds under par.
Also announced Tuesday, freshman Riley Johnson is the Gophers' Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
