COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Marlene Stollings will be inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame for her exceptional achievements as a basketball player. She will be honored at the 10th Anniversary Celebration and Induction Ceremony on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Marlene Stollings played basketball throughout high school and college, scoring many accomplishments along the way. While playing for her team at Eastern High School, Stollings became the all-time leading scorer (men and women) in Ohio with 3,514 points. She averaged 28.4 points per game as a freshman, 34.7 as a sophomore, 40.3 as a junior and 42.5 as a senior.

Stollings was a four-time Southern Ohio Conference player, averaging 7.0 rebounds, 7.0 steals, and 6.0 assists per game in her senior year. She was also a two-time Division III Player of the Year and was named Miss Basketball in 1993. In her senior year she was given the Kodak All-American honors, and her name currently appears more than 30 times in the OHSAA (Ohio High School Athletic Association) record books.

Her college career started at The Ohio State University, where she was a two-time scholar athlete for the Buckeyes. She later transferred to Ohio University, where she was awarded first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors after finishing eighth in the nation and leading the league in scoring 22.9 points per game her senior year. She was the team captain for the Bobcats and received Kodak All-American honorable mention honors in 1998.

To this day, Stollings is in the Ohio record books for her 10 three-point baskets and 41 points that she scored in a single game. A school-record 87 three-pointers contributed to her 642 points, making that the third highest total in OU history. Marlene Stollings is presently the Head Women's Basketball Coach at the University of Minnesota. Feb. 19th was declared Marlene Stollings Day in Pike County Ohio in her honor.

Legendary college basketball coach Bob Knight will be the keynote speaker at the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame's ceremony. Knight was head coach at the U.S. Military Academy for six years, at Indiana University for 29 years and at Texas Tech for seven years. At the time of his retirement in 2008, Knight was the winningest coach in basketball.
