The Golden Gopher men's golf team is in 10th place after 36 holes of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational. Rúnar Arnórsson is tied for 15th individually at the tournament in Tempe, Ariz.
Jose Mendez bounced back from a first-round 75 with an even-par 70 to put him second on the team and tied for 39th overall. Jon DuToit shot a 70 in the first round and 75 in the second.
Riley Johnson and Charlie Duensing both carded 74s in the morning round. Johnson repeated that score in the second round, while Duensing shot an 80.
Host Arizona State leads the tournament with a 16-under first day. Two Sun Devils, Jon Rahm and Max Rottluff, share the top of the individual leaderboard with 129 strokes (-11) apiece.
