MINNEAPOLIS -- The 59th-ranked Minnesota women's tennis team won its fourth-consecutive match Sunday, defeating Nebraska at the Baseline Tennis Center, 5-2. The Gophers moved to 15-6 with a 5-2 ledger in Big Ten play. They are now 10-1 at home.

"I'm very proud of this group," Minnesota head coach Chuck Merzbacher said. "These were team wins where we needed everyone from doubles to singles. Every match, we are needing someone to step up and take charge and they are doing it."

Jessika Mozia and Julia Courter got the Gophers off to a strong start with an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. They improved to 10-3 on the season. To wrap up the doubles competition, Caroline Ryba and Mehvish Safdar won 8-2 at No. 3, upping their record together to 11-2 overall and 9-1 in dual match play.

Nebraska evened the score with a Mary Hanna win at No. 3, but the Gophers responded with straight sets by Aria Lambert at No. 4 and Courter at No. 5. Tereza Brichacova sealed the victory with a win at the top position.

The match concluded with a Cornhuskers super-tiebreaker win at No. 2 and a super-tiebreaker win by Paula Rincon-Otero at No. 6.

The Gophers continue a five-match homestand next weekend against No. 21 Northwestern and Illinois.
