While Jose Mendez prepares for the NCAA Bremerton Regional, other current and former Golden Gophers have been busy as well.

Gophers Move on in U.S. Open Local Qualifying: Sophomore Grady Meyer won the U.S. Open Local Qualifying tournament at Edina Country Club on Monday. Meyer carded a 3-under 69 to earn medalist honors. His round included an eagle on the eighth hole.

Former Gopher Donald Constable shot a 70 and will also move on to the next round of U.S. Open Qualifying. He played in the U.S. Open last summer. Current Gophers William Leaf, Riley Johnson and Jose Mendez also competed in Edina.

2014 graduate Jon Trasamar won the U.S. Open Local Qualifying tournament at the Country Club of Sioux Falls. He birdied the last hole for a 1-under 71.

Rask Wins: Alum Clayton Rask won the Minnesota Golf Champions title, which concluded May 10 at Minneapolis Golf Club. He finished -2 for the tournament after a final round of 68 (-4). Rask birdied the 18th and won by one stroke. Several other former Gophers competed, including assistant coach Justin Smith, who tied for 18th.

Another former Gopher, Rick Ehrmanntraut, won the Past Masters Division of the Minnesota Golf Championships with an 8-over total of 152 in two rounds.
