Vining Wins SDGA Amateur Title

Incoming Gophers freshman Tom Vining won the South Dakota Golf Association's Men's Amateur Championship. He posted a 6-under-par 66 in Sunday's final round to win by eight strokes.
Vining finished 10 under with a 54-hole score of 206. He shot 71 and 69 in the first two rounds, respectively.
The Sioux Falls Lincoln High School graduate is a double state champion this summer, having won the South Dakota match play tournament in July. Vining is also a high school state champion.
Gophers at Resorters:
Junior transfer Justin Doeden advanced to the final match at the Resorters Golf Tournament. Returning junior Grady Meyer also competed, playing in the consolation semifinal.
