Husky Invitational - Live Scoring
The Golden Gophers are in sixth place through 36 holes at the Husky Invitational. Junior Justin Doeden leads Minnesota in a tie for eighth individually at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Washington.
Doeden carded a 2-over 73 in the morning followed by a 72 in the afternoon Monday at Tumble Creek Golf Course. He made three birdies per round in his first start as a Gopher.
Freshman Tom Vining enters the third round close behind Doeden in a tie for 15th. After a 75 in the morning, he posted a 1-over 72 with four birdies to move up the leaderboard. Junior Grady Meyer (tied for 21st) joins Doeden and Vining in the top 25 with scores of 73 and 75 on the tournament's opening day.
Riley Johnson rounded out the scoring for Minnesota. The sophomore posted scores of 79 and 75 and is tied for 48th. Junior Jose Mendez did not finish his first round due to injury, but returned for the afternoon round.
Oregon State tops the team leaderboard at 10 over, 16 strokes ahead of the Gophers. Host Washington's Corey Pereira and USC's Sean Crocker hold the individual lead at 5 under.
Husky Individual - Live Scoring
Four Gophers began play at the Husky Individual at Suncadia's Prospector Golf Course. Sophomore Charlie Duensing leads the way in sixth place. He played an even first round at the par-72 course before shooting a 77 in the second.
Rúnar Arnorsson is tied for 10th (+7). Matt Rachey (tied for 35th) and Peter Jones (38th) will also finish the tournament Tuesday. The Huskies' Kevin Kwon leads at even par.
