The Minnesota Rowing team had a solid effort against several Division I programs at their first meet of the year, the Head of the Des Moines.
"We are glad we came and raced Iowa even though it's been less than three weeks of practice for us," said head coach Wendy Davis. "It is great to have race pressure, perfor, and then evaluate and move forward."
To kick off the day the Gophers had three boats enter in the Women's Collegiate 8+ race. Minnesota's Varsity A boat, led by co-captain Taylor Gainey, earned second-place with an impressive time of 17:28.520.
