How did you get into gymnastics?
My parents signed me up for a gymnastics class when I was seven-years-old.

Did you play any other sports growing up?
I started Karate when I was about 12 and continued all the way up to recieving my first degree black belt.
Why did you choose the University of Minnesota?
I chose the University of Minnesota because it has great academics and also because of how close the team and coaching staff are. I love the positive environment in the gym and at meets that the team creates!

Have you chosen a major or leaning towards a specific area of study?
Currently I am undecided, but I am in the CSE college.

What do you like to do in your free time when you're not training in the gym?
When I am not training in the gym, I like to hangout with my teammates and friends. I like to get out and do activities rather than staying inside. I also like to bike, read, shop and go to the beach.

What are you most looking forward to as a UMN gymnast?
I am very excited to travel with the team to competitions as well as experience everything that home meets have to offer!

Who was your athletic role model growing up?
I never had a specific role model growing up, I just always would look up to the "big girls" at my gym and always wanted to be as good as them!

What's your favorite part about gymnastics? Do you have a favorite apparatus?
What I love about gymnastics is the feeling of accomplishment one gets after all your hard work has paid off - whether that means you hit a new skill, accomplished one of your goals or hitting at a meet! My favorite event is bars.

What type of music most pumps you up for competition?
Hip-hop
Do you have any pre-competition rituals or superstitions?
I don't have any pre-competition rituals, I usually just try to visualize my routines before the meet.
What will it mean to have family so close that will be able to come watch you compete in Division 1 gymnastics?
Since my family lives less than half an hour away, they will be able to come to most of my home meets which I am very excited for!

Did your siblings play any sports growing up?
I have two younger brothers, Michael (17) and Alex (9). Michael does Karate and has his 2nd degree black belt while Alex has done multiple sports such as wrestling, swimming and soccer. What will it mean to have family so close that will be able to come watch you compete in Division 1 gymnastics?
