Cross Country Camp Blog: Day 4

"The harriers of the University of Minnesota men's cross country team began the day with the infamous Q-Loop. The team divided up into groups and tackled the loop. The last part of the loop involved a harder effort over undulating terrain."
"Once the morning practice was completed, the team headed back to camp for yet another delicious lunch. After bellies were sufficiently stuffed, the maroon and gold teams headed to the wiffle-ball field to continue the Nevis Cup. The maroon team prevailed in wiffle-ball and moral was boosted from the losses the day before."
More relaxing activities were completed during the remainder of the afternoon, and the evening contained more exciting Nevis Cup action. The maroon team dominated football, despite the slight drizzle that was falling. We also went on a 30-minute run in the afternoon to keep up our training."
"When darkness had fallen over the camp, the teams took battle once more, this time in a rousing trivia game. The gold team struggled, while maroon was able to answer questions about professional tennis, 60's technology, and architecture with ease. Maroon's outstanding performances put them at 3-0 on the day. Members of the gold team went to bed with their tails between their legs."
Training never ends for the University of Minnesota men's cross country program, and this week is no different for the Gophers.
While Minnesota celebrated a team and individual title on Tuesday night at the Bob Timmons Dual Classic, Wednesday morning saw the team wake up in Lawrence, Kan., and fall asleep in Nevis, Minn., as the team took off for its annual preseason camp in Northern Minnesota.
Aaron Bartnik (photos) and Adam Zutz (notes and quotes) checked in on Saturday as the Gophers spent their fourth day at camp.
