During the academic year, the Gophers are focused on two things: school and their sport. But when classes are not in session, the Gophers are on the go! Catch up with some of the women's gymnastics team as they spend their summer on adventures far away from home or living their dreams in their own backyard.

This summer, I only had one class, so after I finished studying of course, I had lots of time to focus on training and fun summer activities. In May, I went to Hawaii with my family and my teammate/best pal, Rachel Rowland. After a long battle with my fear of sharks, she convinced me to go in the ocean. I can proudly say I stood on a paddle board in open waters for about 6 seconds. What can I say? Adrenaline is my middle name.

I also went skydiving which was a pretty cool experience! I don't think I would do it again, mainly because I drooled on my instructor and it messed up my hair...but, I am definitely glad I can check that off the bucket list!

The rest of my summer was spent hosting fun events in Rachel and I's apartment. We hosted "Team Bachelorette" viewing nights every Monday which, was fabulous. Other than that, we pretty much spent the rest of our time dancing with our cleaning supplies. Ahhh, good times!

Training
Summer training went really well. I made a lot of progress on bars, which is the event that used to be my nemesis. Thanks to our wonderful coach Rich, I'm learning to love it! I also spent a lot of time with my rehab so I can get back to the other events hopefully soon!
All in all, I had a pretty awesome summer.
