Photo Gallery The University of Minnesota baseball team enjoyed a guided tour of the new U.S. Bank Stadium put on by the Minnesota Sports Facility Authority (MSFA) on Friday. The tour included a walk in the front entrance of the facility, walk around the entire concourse and a few moments in the seats already set in place.

The multi-functional stadium is set to host the Minnesota Vikings as its main tenant, with the Gophers serving as the main tenant for baseball. U.S. Bank Stadium will serve as a climate-controlled environment that will allow Minnesota to play host to games at any time of the year.

The stadium has been scheduled to host a multitude of events, including Vikings football games, select Gophers baseball games, Supercross and a variety of concerts, in the coming year.

Special turf is slated to be brought in for Gopher baseball games, beginning in the 2017 season. Minnesota will have its own locker room during the baseball season, reserved for the players and coaches.

With the structure already set in place, the proposed baseball field will have dimensions of 345 feet in left field, 365 feet in the left-center gap, 381 feet straight away in center field, 345 feet in right-center and 301 feet down the line in right field. The longest part of the field will reach 400 feet shortly to the right of center field.

In total, U.S. Bank Stadium will host 240 total baseball games, ranging from the high school level to the collegiate ranks, in the next year.
