Gophers Earn B1G Diver of the Week Honors

Juniors Matt Barnard and Yu Zhou were each selected as Big Ten Diver of the Week following the UGA Diving Invite competition, announced today by the conference office. Barnard and Zhou have each tallied six B1G Diver of the Week honors this season, with the Minnesota diving team having been awarded now 13 times this season.

Barnard recorded a first place finish in men's platform diving with a score of 432.20. His 390.15 points earned him second in the 3-meter competition, and Barnard placed eighth on the 1-meter springboard with a 316.55. Each mark was a NCAA Zone qualifying score.

In just her second season at Minnesota, Zhou has been named B1G Diver of the week nine times. Zhou finished first on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 309.60 and second in 3-meter diving with a 307.90. Both scores were NCAA Zone qualifying scores.
