Another top-10 program and much more highlight the Minnesota Golden Gophers ranked in the top-25. Below is a summary of each team, and tickets for all upcoming home events are available by visiting mygophersports.com.
Volleyball - #3
Last Week: The Gophers, playing as the nation's top-ranked team for the first time since 2004, fell to Penn State in State College in a five-set thriller, but bounced back on Sunday with a three-set sweep of Northwestern.
This Week: The Gophers will look to knock off a top-ranked team Wednesday in Madison, as they travel to face the Badgers, beginning a four-match road trip. That continues on Saturday in East Lansing as Minnesota faces No. 14 Michigan State.
Women's Hockey - #3
Last Week: Minnesota split its first road series of the season, defeating Bemidji State on Friday night, 3-1, before suffering their first defeat of the year, 2-0, on Saturday.
This Week: The Gophers return to Ridder Arena to host No. 4 Minnesota Duluth in a top-five battle this weekend. Puck drop is set for 6:07 p.m. CT Friday and 4:07 p.m. CT Saturday.
Men's Hockey - #9
Last Week: The Gophers opened their 2016-17 campaign in the Last Frontier, defeating Alaska Anchorage 6-0 on Friday and the Nanooks of Alaska Fairbanks, 6-3, on Sunday. Tyler Sheehy, who leads the Big Ten Conference in scoring after one week of play -- was named the Big Ten First Star of the Week
Coming Up: The Maroon & Gold return to action with an exhibition game against the U.S. Under-18 Team at Mariucci Arena on Oct. 14 before the official regular-season home opener against St. Cloud State on Oct. 21.
Soccer - #15
Last Week: Minnesota moved up two spots in this week's poll after back-to-back shutouts, defeating Iowa 3-0 and Nebraska by the same score this past weekend at home.
This Week: The Gophers travel to the Mitten this week, facing Michigan State on Thursday night and Michigan on Sunday morning.
