Team captain • Honorable Mention All-Big Ten • skated in 36 games for the Gophers as a junior • recorded 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) • tied for the team lead in goals and led the Gophers with five game-winning goals (a new single-season career high) • was Minnesota's top man on the draw with a .548 winning percentage • team was 11-4-1 when he recorded a point and 8-1-1 when he notched a goal • set a new single-game career high with four points (one goal, three assists) against Michigan on Nov. 11, 2017 (his three assists tied his single-game career high also) • Academic All-Big Ten • earned third letter.
2016-17 | SOPHOMORE SEASON
First Team All-American • named the 2017 Big Ten Player of the Year, a First Team All-Big Ten selection and the Big Ten Co-Scoring Champion • led the Gophers and ranked eighth nationally with 53 points (20 goals, 33 assists) while playing in all 38 games • Sheehy’s 53 points are the most in a season by a Gopher since Ryan Potulny recorded 63 during the 2005-06 season • the sophomore recorded career highs for points (53), goals (20), assists (33) and plus/minus (+21) • led the nation with 38 even-strength points • led the Gophers at +21 on the year • his 19 multi-point games ranked tied for third in the nation • a five-time Big Ten Three Stars honoree • earned second letter.
2015-16 | FRESHMAN SEASON
Skated in all 37 games as a rookie for the Gophers • finished fourth overall on the team and led the freshmen class with 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) • tallied his first career point with a goal against Northeastern on Oct. 23 • recorded eight multi-point games as a rookie including a season-high three-point game four times • assisted on all-three goals in a 3-1 win over Michigan State on Jan. 16 • scored two goals for his first career multi-goal game and added an assist for good measure against Ohio State on Dec. 5 • led the Gophers with a goal and two assists against Ohio State to open the Big Ten Tournament on March 18 • named the team's Tom Mohr Playoff Most Valuable Player • earned first letter.
JUNIORS/HIGH SCHOOL
Spent part of four seasons in the USHL with the Waterloo Black Hawks and the Youngstown Phantoms and won two Anderson Cup titles as regular-season USHL champions • appeared in 118 regular-season USHL games with 104 points (39 goals, 65 assists) as well as 16 USHL playoff games with 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) • traded from Waterloo to Youngstown during the 2014-15 season and ended the regular season with 53 points (17 goals, 36 assists) in 56 games as the Phantoms won the Anderson Cup • skated with fellow Gophers Sam Rossini and Tommy Novak at Waterloo • also skated in four playoff games in 2015 with three assists • tallied 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists) in 49 regular-season games during 2013-14 and helped the Black Hawks to the Anderson Cup • led the USHL with eight playoff goals and ranked second with 15 playoff points in 12 games during the 2014 postseason • named to the 2013-14 USHL All-Rookie Team • also skated in one USHL game with the U.S. Under-18 Team during the 2013-14 season • played 12 regular-season USHL games for Waterloo between the 2012-13 and 2011-12 seasons • previously skated at Burnsville High School with Rossini • served as an alternate captain and was selected to the All-South Suburban Conference team in 2012-13.
