Gopher to Host Open Practice
10/21/2016 12:00:00 AM | Wrestling
Fans eager to get their first look at the 2016-17 Gopher Wrestling team will have the opportunity to check out an open-doors practice on Saturday, October 29 at the Bierman Field Athletic Building. Practice will begin that day at 11 a.m.
The Saturday morning practice session will include typical warm-ups and drilling, but will also include more live action than a typical workout to help fans check out their favorite grapplers in action. Wrestlers will weigh-in that day and wrestle at least three live-goes. Head Coach Brandon Eggum will also address the crowd to provide his outlook on the upcoming season and answer questions.
To accommodate fans, the team will work out in the Bierman Gym that day. This is the same location that hosted open practices in recent years, located in the same building as the team's everyday facility
Fans do not need to RSVP to attend the practice, though any available seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans are advised to either find free parking on surface streets in the surrounding neighborhoods or pay to park at the 4th Street Ramp, located approximately two blocks from Bierman. Due to construction, the main entrance to Bierman is currently closed. Fans should enter through the Gibson-Nagurksi building (at 15th Ave. SE and 6th St. SE) and follow the signage through the skyway to the connected Bierman building.
