Gopher Sports: How did you get into gymnastics?
Casey Betts: I realized I wanted to join gymnastics when my sister had her birthday party at a gymnasium. At that time I was a figure skating, but had always wanted to try gymnastics. My mom had me pick one, and I chose gymnastics.
GS: Why did you choose Minnesota?
CB: I wanted to come to Minnesota because the academics and gymnastics program are both ranked highly. I also love the coaching staff, as well as the beautiful campus.
GS: What have you learned from your time at Minnesota so far?
CB: I have learned that in college, being early is on time and on time is late!
GS: What are your goals for this season?
CB: I hope to contribute on as many events as possible for the team.
GS: What events do you compete in?
CB: I'm an all-around competitor!
GS: Who has been your greatest supporter?
CB: My greatest supporters would have to be my mom and club coaches. Without them I wouldn't be where I am today.
GS: What else are you looking forward to?
CB: I'm looking forward to traveling to new places and competing as a Golden Gopher!
