Rowing Finishes Preseason at Sacramento

The University of Minnesota rowing team traveled to Sacramento, Cal. this weekend for their final scrimmage against Sacramento State before starting the competitive portion of their schedule. After their fall season where the Gophers competed in four meets, the team has taken a training trip to San Diego and has held practices at the boathouse to prepare for the spring.
Coach Wendy Davis was pleased with how the weekend played out and is looking forward to spring competition.
" We had a great scrimmage session with Sacramento State with four varsity eights, three varsity fours and four novice eights," Davis said. "All crews held to the ratings which shows strong discipline across both programs. The varsity boats finished with a 1,000 meter race with open rate. It was the perfect preseason format to prepare all the rowers for the spring racing."
