Rowing Holds Successful Scrimmage with Tennessee

KNOXVILLE - Following their impressive performance at the Cardinal Invitational, the University of Minnesota rowing team capped their spring break trip with a successful scrimmage Tennessee on Thursday.
Minnesota's first and second Varsity 8 boats gained valuable experience during the races that they will be able to use throughout the season.
"The scrimmages went well and we have really benefited from a week of training in these fantastic conditions," coach Wendy Davis said. "Everyone is eager to take advantage of our practice time before the reality of classes sinks in."
Taylor Gainey, Anna Greene, Madison Koch, Catherine Ahrens, Haley Bagley, Sara Scarbro, Lauren Miller, Jess Flakne and Lisa Weeks occupied the first Varsity 8 while Meredith Kelly, Joyce Jollands, Lauren Gonsalves, Kourtney Luedloff, Bee Lovick, Kersten Schwanz, Emily Appold and Jaime Friscia were in the second Varsity 8.
The Gophers return to competition in two weeks, traveling to Sartoga Springs, NY for the Doc Hosea Invitational.
