Gophers Move Up Two Spots at Big Tens

INDIANAPOLIS - With 36 holes complete at the 2016 Big Ten Championships, the Minnesota women's golf team moved two spots up the team standings on Saturday at The Fort Golf Course.
The Gophers (297-287-584) now stand alone in 10th place, shaving 10 strokes off their team score from the opening round.
Freshman Niamh Ward continued to pace the Gophers this weekend, as she improved upon her opening round with an even-par 72 to move into a tie for 22nd place at one-over-par (73-72-145).
Junior Emie Peronnin also moved up the leaderboard, as she is tied for 34th place (74-73-147).
The sophomore duo of Sabrine Garrison and Heather Ciskowski both made double-digit leaps up the leaderboard, with each carding one-under-par 71s on Saturday. Garrison (77-71-148) is tied for 41st while Ciskowski (78-71-149) is one shot behind in a tie for 46th place.
Freshman Maggie Heggerston (74-80-154) is tied for 70th while classmate Muyu Wu (76-79-155) is in a three-way tie in 75th place.
Wisconsin's Brooke Ferrell (65-72-137) maintained her spot atop the leaderboard while Northwestern took the second round lead at six-under par (284-286-570).
The Big Ten Championships conclude Sunday, with morning tee times scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. ET.
