Minnesota Wraps Up Big Ten Championships

INDIANAPOLIS--- After being kept off the water yesterday due to weather, the Gophers wrapped up Big Ten Championships with a second place finish, a third place finish, a fourth place finish, a fifth place finish and two sixth place finishes.
Two Gophers picked up All-Big Ten honors, as Anna Greene was selected to the First Team while Taylor Gainey was named a Second Team selection. Sara Scarbro was recognized as Minnesota's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
In their last race as novices, Minnesota's Second Novice Eight claimed the Gophers' highest finish of the day, placing second with a time of 6:58.585. They finished only behind Wisconsin who notched a time of 6:47.242. The First Novice Eight placed third with a time of 6:48.428. They finished just behind Wisconsin (6:45.126) and Michigan (6:47.773).
The Second Varsity Four finished with a strong fourth place finish at 7:36.754 while the First Varsity Four finished fifth at 7:25.492.
Both Varsity Eight boats picked up sixth place finishes, the First Varsity Eight at 6:41.535 and the Second Varsity Eight at 6:44.906.
Ohio State claimed the team championship with 174 points while Minnesota was sixth in the team standings (86 points).
