Eight members of the Minnesota men's gymnastics team were named All-America Scholar Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association (CGA), announced today.

Gophers Yaroslav Pochinka, Alex Wittenberg, Justin Karstadt, Luke Aldrich, Ryan Bergman, and Joel Gagnon were named to the First Team for maintaining a grade point average above 3.5. While Minnesota's Zach Liebler and Jack Kramer garnered Second Team accolades for holding a GPA between 3.2 and 3.499.

"I am always heartened to see how many of our student-athletes not only excel on the competition floor, but in the classroom as well," head coach Mike Burns said. "I am proud of the way our top gymnasts handle their academic responsibilities, and I hope that every young man who enters our program has the same desire to achieve excellence that these individuals have."

Minnesota was also ranked seventh by the CGA for holding a program GPA of 3.167.
