University of Minnesota men's golf coach John Carlson has announced the addition of Alex Uloth to the roster. Uloth comes to the Golden Gophers from Concordia University in St. Paul and will begin his junior year of eligibility.

Uloth, a native of Burnsville, Minn., won this summer's Minnesota State Amateur Championship. He made an eagle on the last hole to finish 7 under par and beat his new teammate, Riley Johnson, by a stroke. Uloth had tied a tournament record with an 8-under 63 in the first round.

In Concordia's career record books, Uloth ranks seventh in program history in win-loss percentage and ninth in scoring average. He turned in three top-10 finishes as a sophomore.

A three-time All-South Suburban Conference selection and two-time team captain at Burnsville High School, Uloth won conference medalist honors in 2012. He lettered five times in golf and three times in alpine skiing. He received Burnsville's Outstanding Athlete Award as a senior.

Uloth is the son of Gary and Doris Uloth. Academically, he is interested in pre-med studies.
