CAMBRIDGE, Mass. ââ'¬" Competing in the 36-entry Women's Championship Eights race at the 53rd Annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Gopher Rowing finished 31st on Sunday afternoon.
The Maroon & Gold's boat included coxswain Anna Stockstad, Rylie Wargo, Sara Nelson, Kortney Luedloff, Addie Morris, Allison Sterneman, Lauren Miller, Maura Dahl, and Abby Reiser. Minnesota finished with a time of 16:32.809.
"Within the first 30 strokes of the race, one of our rowers lost her seat and was never able to get it fully back on so we rowed the entire race compromised," said head coach Wendy Davis after the race. "With that in mind, I'm really proud of how well everyone raced. Our coxswain steered an incredible course."
Sudbury Rowing club won with a time of 14:48.423.
The Gophers' fall season concludes next week as the team hosts Wisconsin for an exhibition dual on the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. The races get underway around 11 a.m.
