Single Meet Tickets On Sale!: Full CGA Ranking Release

The University of Minnesota men's gymnastics program will host the annual Maroon vs. Gold intrasquad meet at the Maturi Pavilion on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 4:30 p.m. CT. It will be a first look at the Gophers before the 2018 competition season begins.

"The Maroon and Gold Meet has finally arrived and I'm excited to see how these guys do in a competition setting," head coach Mike Burns said. "The big thing we will be looking for is how they will step up and handle this first competition of the year. Most of these guys haven't competed since April so it will be a bit of a reawakening to get out there in front of judges, raise their hands and compete for that block `M' on their chest."

Admission to the event is free. You can also watch on BTN Plus.

The Gophers are ranked No. 4 in the preseason coaches poll by the College Gymnastics Association (CGA). Minnesota placed fifth at the 2017 NCAA Championships last season which was their first top-five finish since 2002. They have 10 seniors on the roster this year and return All-Americans Vitali Kan (vault), Tristan Duran (parallel bars and high bar) Jalon Stephens (high bar) and 2017 Big Ten floor champion Alex Wittenberg. Wittenberg along with senior Joel Gagnon are the captains this season. The Maroon and Gold also brought in four freshmen.
