Junior Kenisha Bell earned a spot on the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the second straight week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Bell scored a team high 30 points (one point shy of her career high) in a 101-75 win against UC Riverside on Dec. 22. The game was Minnesota's final tilt before the Gophers start Big Ten play at 7 p.m. at Northwestern on Dec. 28.
Bell played 34 minutes and did not commit a turnover while dishing out nine assists. She made it to the line 12 times and knocked down nine free throws. Bell also added two rebounds and two steals.
The Minneapolis native enters Big Ten play having scored 20 or more points in four straight games. She leads the conference in assists (6.2 average) and is tied for fifth in scoring (20.8 points).
In addition to being named to the Big Ten Honor Roll twice, Bell has also earned Big Ten Player of Week honors once.
Minnesota's next home game is at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31 against Nebraska. The Gophers are a perfect 7-0 at home this season.
