Gophers Earn Top Marks In Cardinal Invitational

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The University of Minnesota rowing team completed their first weekend of spring season competition at the Cardinal Invitational.
In the Varsity 4 races, the Gophers' Varsity A recorded a second place finish on Saturday morning (7:22.017) and first place on Saturday afternoon (7:33.504). On Sunday, the Varsity A finished in first place (7:21.5) in their last race of the weekend. The Varsity B finished in first place on Saturday morning (7:47.752) and in second place on Saturday afternoon (8:00.772). In the final race of the weekend the Varsity B boat finished in second place (7:39.1). The Varsity C raced to both a second and first place finish on Saturday (8:01.309, 7:59.271). On Sunday, the Varsity C boat finished in first place (7:46.3) concluding the action for the Varsity 4 races.
On Saturday, the Varsity 8s finished in third of better in all four races. The Varsity 8A finished second place in both races of the day (6:37.745, 6:49.935). The Varsity 8B finished in first place in the first race of day (6:49.100) and third place in the second race of the day (6:56.154). On Sunday, the Varsity 8A earned a first place finish (6:40.3) while the Varsity 8B earned a second place finish (6:40.6).
