Minnesota Wraps Up Regular Season at Iowa

In its final tournament before the Big Ten Championships, the Minnesota men's golf team finished 11th at the Hawkeye Invitational. Rúnar Arnorsson tied for 21st playing as an individual. The field at Finkbine Golf Course finished the weather-delayed second round before beginning the third round. Minnesota's 54-hole team score was 891.
Arnorsson finished 2 over for the tournament after wrapping up a second-round 74 and shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round.
Riley Johnson led the Gophers' scoring lineup with a tie for 38th at 6 over. Johnson completed his best round, an even-par 72, in the morning before carding a 77 in the afternoon.
Justin Doeden was one shot behind Johnson in a tie for 43rd. He completed a 76 in the morning before turning in his tournament-best 73 in the final round.
Grady Meyer and Thomas Longbella tied for 46th at 8 over. Meyer had a 69 in the second round, the Gophers' best round of the weekend, and a 79 in the third round. He had six birdies and three bogeys in his season-low round. Longbella led Minnesota with a 72 in the third round after posting a 74 in the second. Peter Jones rounded out the lineup in a tie for 76 with a combined score of 233.
Texas Tech won the tournament with a combined score of 855. Iowa State's Nick Voke captured medalist honors with a score of 207.
The Gophers will have next weekend off before traveling to the conference tournament. The Big Ten Championships run April 28-30 at Baltimore Country Club.
