Longbella in Second Following First Round of Big Tens

Thomas Longbella leads the Gophers in 2nd place after the first day of the 2017 Big Ten Tournament. Minnesota is tied for 7th at the conclusion of the first round, shooting a 291 as a team.
In his first Big Ten Tournament, Longbella carded at 4-under a 70 par, picking up five birdies along the way.
Also cracking the top 25 was Justin Doeden, shooting a first round 71, racking up four birdies for himself. Doeden is tied for 16th going into Saturday's Round.
Grady Meyer concludes the first round tying for 50th, shooting a 76 for the round.
Riley Johnson and Rúnar Arnorsson round out the Gophers competing in the tournament. Johnson shot 78 in the first round, tying for 61st place, while Arnorsson carded a first round 79 to end the round tying for 65th. Meyer, Johnson and Arnorsson racked up a birdie each on the 9th, 12th and 10th holes, respectively.
Illinois leads the team competition after the first round, shooting 269. Illinois's Dylan Meyer has the individual lead with a first round score of 63.
Round two will begin at 8 a.m. CT Saturday.
