Gophers Pick Up Two Wins at Doc Hosea Invitiational

CHERRY HILL, N.J. -The University of Minnesota rowing team completed their second weekend of spring season competition at the Doc Hosea Invitational on Sunday morning. The field for the competition saw other boats from Boston University, Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Navy, Northeastern, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Rutgers, and Syracuse.
The Gophers had a total of three races on the day with two Varsity 8 boats and a Varsity 4 competition. In the Varsity 8A race, Minnesota came out on top with a first place finish (6:49.4). Roughly 25 minutes later, the Varsity 8B boat finished in sixth out of six boats (7:02.5).
As for the Varsity 4 boat the Gophers finished in a tie with Navy for first place with a time of 7:29.0.
The Gophers return to action next Saturday for a Big Ten battle at Michigan State.

Varsity 8A: Meredith Kelly, Kortney Luedloff, Anna Greene, Abby Rieser, Rylie Wargo, Haley Bagley, Lauren Gonsalves, and Sara Nelson.
Varsity 8B: Maighdlin Shaughnessy, Maura Dahl, Catherine Ahrens, Allison Sterneman, Erika Guenther, Emily Appold, Addie Morris, Christina Anderson, and Anna Cruse.
Varsity 4: Anna Stockstad, Katie VanCamp, Lauren Burrows-Cheng, Sarah Von der Goltz, Elisabeth Hiebel.
