Lindaman Earns Ninth B1G Plaudit

For the eighth time this season Kendyl Lindaman has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Lindaman also won a Player of the Week honor this season. Tuesday was the final weekly award announcement for the Big Ten. The Gophers finish the season with 19 weekly plaudits. Yearly awards will be announced tomorrow.
The Gophers secured their first regular season title since 1991 over the weekend with a sweep of Penn State. Lindaman only had two hits on the weekend but was walked seven times. Her two hits came in the form of a home run and a double. She finished with a .500 batting average, .818 on base percentage and a 1.500 slugging percentage.
Lindaman already had the Gophers single season home run record and now has 19 after this weekend's homer. She is now the single season walk record holder as well with 52 on the season. She is hitting .432 with a .592 on base percentage a .932 slugging percentage this year.
The Gophers have the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament. They will play Friday at 10 a.m. CT against the winner of Northwestern and Purdue.
