The University of Minnesota finished sixth overall in the College Gymnastics Association (CGA) National Academic top-ten list with a combined grade point average of 3.280, the organization announced.

"To see how well the majority of our guys do in the classroom is a testament to their desire to succeed at both spectrums of the term student-athlete. Success after their athletic career is the key to true success in life," head coach Mike Burns said. "Hats off to those who have shown the commitment to a truly balanced life between athletics and academics."

Nine Gophers were named first team All-American Scholar-Athletes for earning over a 3.5 GPA and one was named second team All-American for earning over a 3.2 GPA. The 10 athletes are the most Minnesota has had honored since the 2014 season.

Yaroslav Pochinka, Ben Winkel, Luke Aldrich, Ryan Bergman, Justin Karstadt, Alex Wittenberg, Joel Gagnon, Vitali Kan and Zach Liebler were nine of 86 student-athletes named to the first team and Jack Kramer was one of 65 named to the second team.
