Freshman Spotlight: Lexy Ramler
7/27/2017 12:00:00 AM | Gymnastics
Throughout the summer we will be introducing you to the three talented freshmen the Gophers are
bringing in this fall. Today meet St. Michael, Minn. native Lexy Ramler!
Ramler has had a highly accomplished gymnastics career already. She was the lone qualifier from the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Missouri and North and South Dakota to qualify for the 2013 Nastia Liukin Cup. She kept that strong year going by winning the all-around and bars national championship at the Junior Olympics. She is a three-time P&G Championships qualifier and even has her own skill, "The Ramler" named after her. She successfully completed "The Ramler" in the Junior Olympic Code of Points on bars.
Meet Lexy Ramler
Gopher Sports: How is your time on campus so far?
Lexy Ramler: It started out crazy at first, but now I'm settling in. I've also been having a great time exploring the city as well as campus.
GS: What are you most looking forward to in your first school year and season?
LR: For my freshman year, I am looking forward to taking classes that I'm interested in, and I am very excited to be competing as a gopher. I can't wait to be a part of such a supportive team, and I am looking forward to making so many memories this year.
GS: What has it been like to meet your teammates? Who is the funniest teammate so far?
LR: My teammates have been so welcoming and made my transition here to the U so much easier. I would definitely be lost without them. I think the funniest person on the team is Hitchy (Hannah Hitchcock). No one can beat her dance moves and made up cheers.
GS: What is your favorite gymnastics event?
LR: My favorite event is bars because there is always a new connection to make and something new to learn!
GS: What is one thing Gopher fans should know about you?
LR: I am so thankful I get to compete for my home state, and I hope to see you at our meets! Go Gophers!
