MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) -- With Gopher Hockey's exhibition game set for Oct. 1, we're counting down to the 2017-18 opener by looking back at some of the top moments from last year's campaign.
Number 5: Schierhorn Earns Homecoming Shutout
Anchorage, Alaska native Eric Schierhorn hadn't played a hockey game in his hometown since middle school, but his first game back certainly didn't disappoint. The two-time Big Ten Goaltender of the Year picked up a shutout for the Gophers in the 2017-18 season opener at UAA.
