MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota men's golf team got through 32 holes Monday before the day was cut short due to darkness on the course at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Carrollton, Texas.

The Gophers will pick up the last four holes of the second round Tuesday when play resumes at 8:30 a.m. Minnesota is currently in 14th, shooting 23-over par prior to the delay in competition.

Junior Noah Rasinski led the Gophers on the day, largely due to his smooth partial second round. He birdied to counter an early bogey, and only dropped one stroke up until the day was called to go one-over par and tie for 30th. In the first round, he was one-over through 14 holes and lost four strokes on his last three to finish with a five-over 75.

Sophomore Angus Flanagan gained a stroke back in the second round with a birdie, but currently sits six-over thus far. He shot to par on all but one hole to start the first, but added five strokes in the second half for a six-over 76. He is currently tied for 56th at 12-over par.

Freshman Lincoln Johnson birdied his second hole of the first round, but has shot over par five times to finish 14 holes at seven-over par. He is 13-over par for the tournament and tied for 60th. In the first round, Johnson carded birdies on two of his first five holes, but added eight strokes to finish at six-over.

Sophomore Evan Long led the way for the Gophers after the first round, where he faced adversity early on and added three strokes in his first five holes. He shaved off two strokes with back-to-back birdies, but picked up three more strokes to finish his first 18 at a four-over par 74. His second round has not gone as well, up 11 over-par with four holes to go.

Senior Peter Jones was 10 strokes over through his first 13 holes of the second round, but closed his day with a birdie at nine-over par. He rounded out the first 18 holes with a 16-over 86, and is currently tied for 78th.

The team will close out the second round tomorrow morning, while the third and final round of the fall season will follow. Live scoring can be found at Golfstat in the link above.
