Full 2019 Schedule
The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team released their 2019 competition schedule, head coach Jenny Hansen announced Thursday. The Gophers are set to host four meets and the annual Intrasquad meet at the Maturi Pavilion this season.
The 2019 season will see the return of the Best of Minnesota meet. The Gophers will also be competing on some of the most impressive and brightest stages in the country as part of two Elevate the Stage meets this year.
"We are very excited about the strength of this year's schedule as well as the opportunity to compete against both traditional powerhouses and programs on the rise," Hansen said. "It's incredibly important for our team to compete against not only strong programs, but also in new environments, in every conference and especially on podium. We get the opportunity to do it in all with this year's schedule."
The first chance of the year to see the Gophers will be on New Year's Eve for the Intrasquad meet at 4 p.m. before heading to ASU on Jan. 4 to open the regular season.
The Best of Minnesota meet returns to the Pav on Jan. 12 with Gustavus, Winona State and Hamline all competing. The Maroon and Gold will end January with back-to-back Big Ten road trips at Iowa and Penn State.
Minnesota will host Michigan State to start February. They will travel to Nebraska the week after and host Maryland on Feb. 15.
This year's Big Five meet will be held in Toledo and will also be the Gophers first time on an Elevate the Stage podium in the 2019 season. Minnesota will compete against Michigan, Ohio State, Illinois and Rutgers with the regular season Big Ten title on the line.
The Gophers will hold Senior Night on March 2 against Pittsburgh and will hit the road for another Elevate the Stage meet, this time in Alabama, the week after to compete against Georgia, Arkansas and Michigan State.
Minnesota will close out the regular season at Missouri with Michigan and Centenary. The Big Ten Championships will be held at Penn State on March 23, NCAA Regionals will be the weekend of April 6 and the NCAA Nationals will be held April 19-21.
For the 2019 season the seating for season ticket holders will be changed from reserved general admission to reserved seating so fans will have the opportunity to pick seats (based on availability). Due to this change season tickets will not available online but can be purchased by calling 612-624-8080. Reserved chairbacks will be sold for $32 ($8 a meet) and reserved bench will be sold for $24 ($6 a meet).
