Three Sign NLIs for Women's Gym

The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics program has signed three student-athletes to the class of 2023, head coach Jenny Hansen announced Thursday. 

"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Maya, Mallory and Halle into the Gopher gymnastics family," head coach Jenny Hansen said. "All three are outstanding students and are coming in focused and determined to make a difference in our program. We expect all three to challenge for spots in all four events. They will not only bring a high level of difficulty to each event but great form, execution and artistry to their performances."

Maya Albertin - Stars Gymnastics - Cinco Ranch High School

Albertin is a native of Houston, Texas. She competes for Stars Gymnastics and attends Cinco Ranch High School. In 2015 she was the Level 9 Western National Beam Champion and in 2016 she was a Level 10 Regional Beam silver medalist. She competed in the 2017 JO Nationals and was the 2017 Level 10 Regional Floor Champion with a 9.675. She also took fifth in the all-around, sixth on vault and seventh on bars. At the 2017 Level 10 state championships, she finished fourth in the all-around, third on beam and fifth on bars. She also got third on beam and fourth in the all-around, vault and bars at the Level 10 state championships in 2018.

Mallory LeNeave - Xtreme Gymnastics - St. Thomas Aquinas High School

LeNeave is a native of Lee's Summit, Mo. She competes for Xtreme Gymnastics and attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She is a three-time Missouri state all-around champion and a three-time JO National Qualifier. In 2016 she took sixth place on bars and tenth place on all-around at JO Nationals as well as ninth place on floor in 2017. She finished third place in all-around at the Region 4 Championships in both 2015 and 2016 and second place in all-around in 2017.

Halle Remlinger - Kidsport Gymnastics - Winona Senior High School

Remlinger is a native of Winona, Minn. She competes for Kidsport Gymnastics and attends Winona Senior High School. She finished second place on floor at the 2018 Minnesota state meet and third place in all-around at regionals. She also took fifth place on floor at JO Nationals in 2018. She has high scores of 9.65 on vault and 37.725 on all-around.
