STARTING FIVE
• The Minnesota men's basketball team continues play in the TCL Vancouver Showcase when it faces off against Santa Clara Tuesday night.
• Sunday's win over Texas A&M marked the first regular-season game in program history for the Gophers to be played in Canada, and the first international regular season game since 2012's trip to Battle for Atlantis in the Bahamas – which was the first international games for Minnesota.
• With their 104-76 win over Omaha on Nov. 6, the Gophers are now 95-23 in season openers since the program's inception in 1896. The Gophers have now won 21 of their past 22 season openers including four straight.
• Through three games, the Gophers starting five is each individually averaging double figure scoring, including 10 or more points from the entire quintet on Nov. 12 against Utah. Minnesota's last game with all five starters scoring in double figures was on Jan. 3 last year in the win over Illinois. The Gophers' leading returner from last year, Jordan Murphy, ranks third on the team in points per game (12.3).
• Senior forward Jordan Murphy has earned some impressive accolades leading into the start of the season. The San Antonio, Texas native was a Preseason All-Big Ten Team selection as well as named to the Naismith Trophy (top college basketball player) and Karl Malone Award watch list for the top power forward in the country. Murphy is well within reach of the Gophers all-time rebounding record, just 12 away from tying Mychal Thompson's school record.

SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
• Santa Clara is seeking its first win of the season, after falling to Washington, 82-68, in the opening game of the TCL Vancouver Showcase on Sunday evening.
• A pair of Broncos average double figures, led by Keshawn Justice who is tallying 13.7 points per game along with a team-high two steals per game.
• Santa Clara's roster features a familiar name in graduate transfer Josh Martin. Martin spent six games with the Gophers before transferring to Cal Poly, where he played three years prior to earning his degree and joining the Broncos this season for his final year of eligibility.

GOPHERS VS. THE WCC
• Minnesota has amassed a record of 6-2 against the current membership of the West Coast Conference, excluding vacated games against BYU and Gonzaga.
• That total includes the following individual opponent records: Loyola Marymount (1-0), Portland (0-1), Saint Mary's (2-1), Santa Clara (3-0).
• Head coach Richard Pitino is facing a WCC opponent for the second time. The Gophers defeated Saint Mary's, 63-55, on March 23, 2014 at Williams Arena in the NIT Quarterfinals - a tournament they would go on to win at Madison Square Garden.

UP NEXT
• Minnesota closes out play north of the border on Wednesday, facing Washington in the final game of the TCL Vancouver Showcase.
• Tip time from Vancouver Convention Centre is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT/3:30 p.m. PT, with Big Ten Network carrying the action.
