The Gophers continued to set new personal records on day two of the Minnesota Invite as four swimmers recorded new best times in their events.
Tevyn Waddell swam a 1:46.58 in the 200-yard Freestyle to claim first place and set a new PR for the second night in a row. She is now two-for-two in event wins at the Minnesota Invite.
The Gophers swept both the men's and women's 100-yard Breaststroke competition as four-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week Max McHugh won the men's race with his time of 52.14 and Lindsey Kozelsky touched the wall in 59.73 to beat out the rest of the women's field. McHugh and Kozelsky both rank in the top-three in the nation this season in the 100 Breaststroke
Minnesota had three swimmers representing the Gophers in the A final for the 100-yard Backstroke. Nick Saulnier finished the race in third place and notched a new personal record in the event after swimming a 48.99. Will Brenton took fifth with his time of 50.16, and Peter Lefebvre claimed seventh place after completing the race in 50.96.
Earlier in the day, Brenton finished the 100-yard Butterfly preliminaries in 52.53, which clocked in as a PR in the event for the sophomore. Emma Linscott notched the fourth Minnesota PR on day two after swimming a 56.30 in the 100-yard Butterfly finals.
