Bacon Takes Silver on Day One

Sarah Bacon finished out her first day of the 2018 USA Diving Winter Trails by taking second place overall on the 1-meter Springboard with a final score of 515.40. Her silver-medal score was only 16.80 off the leading score from Brooke Schultz of the University of Arkansas. She notched a 55.20 on her reverse 1 ½ somersault pike to earn her best score of tonight's finals.
Kristen Hayden closed out the day with a score of 413.70 giving her a twelfth-place finish on the day. Her best dive of the day also came in the form of her reverse 1 ½ somersault pike. That dive brought her a score of 45.60 for the round.
Both Bacon and Hayden will compete in the 3-meter Springboard competition tomorrow in Atlanta, GA. Morning preliminaries begin at 10:00 a.m. ET and the evening finals kick off at 4:00 p.m.
