Gophers Close out 2018 USA Diving Winter Trials

Two University of Minnesota Divers participated in the 2018 USA Diving Winter Trials this Thursday and Friday in Atlanta, GA.
Juniors Sarah Bacon and Kristen Hayden performed in the 1-meter Springboard event on Thursday. Both women moved onto the afternoon finals in yesterday's competition after a successful five dives in the morning preliminaries. Bacon claimed a silver medal with her score of 515.40 while Hayden finished the event in twelfth with a score of 413.70.
Hayden was back in the diving well on day two competing in the 3-meter Springboard event. She finished this afternoon's finals in eleventh place with a score of 493.85 after ten dives. Her highest scoring dive in the finals was her forward 2 ½ somersault 1 twist pike, which earned her a combined score of 58.50 for the round.
