Lu, Ramler Awarded by Big Ten

Lexy Ramler and Ivy Lu both came up big as the Gophers stormed back for a top-three finish at last weekend's B1G Five meet and were honored by the conference with weekly awards, the conference announced Monday.
Ramler won the Freshman of the Week plaudit for the fifth time this season and Lu is the B1G Event Specialist of the Week for the third time.
Ramler took a pair of podium finishes and tied for the all-around title at the B1G Five meet in Rutgers this past weekend with a 39.450. She was clutch on the Gophers final two events of the event with a second place finishes on vault and bars. She tied her career high with a 9.875 on vault and notched a 9.925 on bars which put the Gophers into the top-three late.

Lu led the Gophers on beam with a 9.850 and continued to shine on bars. She anchored a 49.350 bars score, sixth highest in program history, for Minnesota with a 9.950. She has gone over 9.900 on bars in nine meets this season and has hit 9.950 or higher five times. She is now in a four-way tie for second on bars in the entire NCAA.

Ramler, Lu and the Gophers are now off to the B1G Championships in Champaign, Ill. They will start on vault in the evening session at 7 p.m.
