MINNEAPOLIS (GopherSports.com) - Gopher Hockey senior forward Leon Bristedt has signed a two-year contract with Rogle BK of the Swedish Hockey League.
A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Bristedt skated in 144 career games with the Maroon & Gold while recording 98 career points (42 goals, 56 assists). The forward, who joins NHL skaters Thomas Vanek and Erik Haula as the only Europeans to letter at Minnesota, notched two 30-point seasons in his career. Bristedt served as an alternate captain for the Gophers as a senior last season.
A four-year letter winner with the Gophers, Bristedt helped the program win three Big Ten regular-season conference championships including the school's NCAA record sixth-straight conference crown in 2017. In the classroom, he was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Bristedt will join former Gophers captain Taylor Matson on the Rogle BK roster.
