Lexy Ramler capped off a stellar freshman season by bringing home Second Team All-American honors on beam at the NCAA Championships.
"Tonight was an amazing experience," Ramler said. "I'm so proud that I had the opportunity to represent Minnesota tonight."
Ramler competed all-around in the evening session at the championships and rotated with the Kentucky Wildcats. She notched an impressive 39.3500 on all-around led by her 9.8875 on beam. The beam score was good for sixth place. She also scored a 9.8750 on bars, a 9.8500 on vault and a 9.7375 on floor.
"We are so proud of Lexy today. She had a great competition and this was an incredible experience for her," head coach Jenny Hansen said. "Earning All-American honors on beam caps off a fantastic freshman year for Lexy."
Ramler earned the 22nd All-American honor in program history and is just the eighth Gopher to ever earn an All-American plaudit. The last Gophers to do so were Lindsay Mable and Hanna Nordquist in 2016.
The All-American honor puts an exclamation point on the St. Michael, Minn. native's first year as a Gopher. She also earned Regular Season All-American honors on beam (First-Team) and in the all-around (Second-Team) and bars (Second-Team).
Ramler was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, the Big Ten Freshman of the Week five times and the Gymnast of the Week four times. She won eight all-around titles this season and took 34 podium finishes.
