MINNEAPOLIS - The U.S. Olympic Committee handed out its Team USA Awards in Washington, D.C., on Thursday night, and the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team was named 2018 Olympic Team of the Games.

The six athlete and team award winners were determined by online fan voting at TeamUSA.org/Awards, where nearly 600,000 fan votes determined 50 percent of the final tally. Members of the Olympic and Paralympic family - including an esteemed panel of Olympic and Paralympic journalists - accounted for the other 50 percent. For coaching awards, National Governing Bodies selected their nominees and the winners were determined via selection committee.

Eight current and former Gopher women's hockey players represented their countries at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Senior Kelly Pannek and Gopher alumnae Hannah Brandt ('16), Dani Cameranesi ('17), Amanda Kessel ('16), Gigi Marvin ('09), and Lee Stecklein ('17) won gold with Team USA while fellow Gopher alumnae Mira Jalosuo and Noora Raty won bronze with their native Finland.

Catch up on the awards ceremony via social media coverage below, and be sure to tune in for the television coverage of the awards show on NBCSN at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 12.
