For the second straight week Joel Gagnon took part in a second place finish at a major gymnastics event as he helped Team Canada win silver at the Pacific Rim Championships this weekend.

"Taking home second place for Minnesota and then for Team Canada in back-to-back weekends was absolutely amazing," Gagnon said. "It was a super quick turnaround leaving for Columbia two days after we got back from the NCAAs, but it was so worth it. I am very happy with my performance hitting all my routines at both meets."

Team USA won first with a 330.300 on Friday evening while Canada took second with a 309.850. Columbia rounded out the podium with a 306.200.

Gagnon also made four event finals for his performance on Friday. He competed floor, rings, p-bars and high bar on Sunday. His top performance was a fifth place finish on floor with a 13.475. He also took fifth on p-bars with a 13.125, sixth on high bar with a 12.800 and seventh on rings with a 12.500.

Gagnon will continue to compete with Team Canada this summer with teammate Justin Karstadt while Shane Wiskus is with Team USA.
