McKenna Buisman headed the winner in a 2-1 comeback victory over Utah State in the 77th minute after a perfectly crossed ball from TJ McKendrick. Patricia Ward found the back of the net with 11 seconds remaining to lift the Gophers past Utah in the season opener, 1-0.Â
ROBBIE SWEET ROBBIE
Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium has not seen to many losses during the Stefanie Golan era that began during the 2012 season. During the stretch the Gophers have posted a winning home record each year going 41-14-9 (.711) during the six season stretch.
BOCKIN IT DOWN
With an assist against Ole Miss and Utah, senior April Bockin has recorded 22 career assists which ranks her eighth all-time in program history. The offensive minded forward also has 13 career goals and 48 points which leads all active Minnesota players.
SECOND HALF MAGIC
There is no panic from the Gophers when trailing at the half. So far this season the Gophers are outscoring their opponents 4-1 in the second half which stems from last year's mark of outscoring the opposition 26-7 in the final 45 minutes.
